This weekend Ko and I went up to Washington for a kendo tournament. Before starting the long drive up, we decided to replace his stereo system, which, unfortunately, had been stolen a week or two earlier. The speakers in his car are pretty feeble, anyway, so we bought some battery-powered Sony speakers and (blue + duct) taped them into the spot where his stereo had been. Ghetto, but effective, haha. After connecting the speakers to his iPhone we set off.
I always dislike the drive up to Olympia (where Ko's mom lives) because it takes forever (at least, it does when you're from Hawaii and nothing is more than 30 minutes away). Luckily, he had downloaded the Hichhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
series in audio book format to his phone the night before. Having only seen the movie prior to this, I didn't really know what to expect, but let me tell you, Douglas Adams
, was brilliant. The story is compelling, the writing humorous, and listening to the author himself narrate was really nice. If you guys haven't read/listened to HHGG, I would definitely suggest doing so. It's very entertaining, even if you don't like sci-fi.
